It is Crazy Nuts Here!
This is one of those mornings. After our Daybreak worship planning session, I came home to my office for my study day. Ha! Fat chance. Today we have folks putting an old style hardwood floor in the back room and another crew from next door is putting up a new fence down the south property border with the neighbors. We have multiple air compressors running in the living room, air guns nailing in flooring, rubber hammers whacking the boards in place, a miniature black dachshund barking her head off before going into a full-blown nervous breakdown, all sorts of sawing, driving screws in, and other fencing related activities. Let’s just put it in cornbread English — we’ve got racket on steroids!
The irony of grace puts my studies on Psalm 23 today, looking at a true shepherd’s goals for the sheep of the flock. The beautiful and comforting words of Psalm 23 are a blessing:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
While all of it is powerful, to be honest, what appeals to me most are the following:
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
Ah yes, quiet, still, waters out in green pastures away from the noise because it’s crazy nuts here! What about where you are?
