Jesus is the focus, the only focus of all we do in His name. When we allow ourselves to be vessels of His compassion, it becomes easy to let it poor out of us in helping with physical needs and spiritual needs. As you stated so beautifully, why would we want to separate them? In serving Him I have run upon this discussion myself.
