Seasons Greetings Phil

I think we as christians we need to reach out to the poor with gifts for the Lord delights in those who give generously to the needy. We need to remmember that there are those who have nothing to rejoice about, therefore we need to bring those long gone smiles back to life. 2Cor 9:9

The buildings shelter us and make us comfortable. They also give a sense of all belonging together. What they don't do is challenge us to get out with our Christianity still in tact and carry it to those around us. Most of us, including me, don't know a homeless person, or even where to start looking. Sure, I have heard about under bridges and overpasses, and neigboring clusters of tall vegetation. But we haven't actually been there. I resolve this Christmas to find at least one such person to talk to and see how the Lord works in my life through that experience.

Good morning, Phil--

Yes, sometimes I have thought that instead of buildings just shielding us from inclement weather, being convenient, etc., they have grown to be as much, or more, the message than we are. We are the church; we just need a comfortable place to assemble, gather strength from each other, remember what we cost the Lord, renew our mission and march out the door to BE the church. As is often the case, making a thing easy and convenient sometimes stifles its fire and loses its purpose.

Thank you for all the suggestions for getting out of the box.

May God bless you with a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Love in Jesus!
