Is It In You?
The Gatorade commercials lately have a tag line, “Is it in you?” It goes with high profile athletes who have accomplished much in their sport shown in action in black in white. However, their sweat is the color of Gatorade — thus the tag line!
Recently, a friend shared the following video that builds off the Colossians 1:27, Christ in you, the hope of glory. I love it. You take a look and see what you think! (Links for download of the video at the bottom of this post!)
What’s so powerful to me is that I’m sure something like Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” must be sung by Heaven’s angels when we come to Christ and are born into God’s family. So the real question for us today is pretty simple: if someone could really hear your spiritual heart, what would they be able to hear?

I’m not Catholic, I’m Lutheran. Fully Christian, and I confess I’m not perfect. Jesus told us all we ALL have a chance at heaven. Even so, I’d hesitate even longer than the guy in the video before testing my own heart. What if I heard “Baby You’re No Good” or “Another One Bites the Dust” or something? Or silence?
Christians are not perfect, and most of us don’t claim to have all the answers, or even the right answers. But we have hope. Do you? The really neat thing about hope is that it only gets better when it is shared. Ponder the possibilities of grace.

I liked the idea of the songs but the holier than thou part always turns me off to the christian movement. Why can’t you guys get a life and realize that your faith is not the best or only one on the planet. And get that self serving grin off of your faces. Go out and do some real good for the world. Be humble - like it probably says in your bible.

This was very uplifting, and the response has, for the most part been positive. To those who do not know the Alpha and Omega, my prayers are with you. Jesus said for us to spread the word and I am sure this is pleasing in his sight. There is no one perfect, no not one, we are just “forgiven”, but not without a price. I was very moved by this video. As a lover of Christ, I consider myself a Christian, and I love Jesus. I know Jesus because of the Holy Spirit who lives within me. Once you experience the love of the one true God, with His Holy Spirit inside your heart, you will not believe in inanimate objects as GOD–you will know better. Thanks for such a beautiful video. Christ’s Spirit residing is conditional. If good intention is sufficient, faith is not required. Don’t get confused with Easy-Believism or what is also known as Decisionalism… meaning, anyone can claim Christ Consciousness residing within unconditionally. This myth is promoted by deviant books like “The Secret” or “Conversations with God.” God sent His Son Jesus, not as a King, but as a servant, to live as deity and die as man. For apart from the shedding of untainted blood there is no forgiveness, no indwelling of His Spirit. Confess you are a sinner, repent of sins, ask Jesus’s Spirit to come in and renew your heart, to give you a new heart. That’s the only formula given under heaven… anything else is deception.

Twenty-five years ago my husband of 21 years decided that he did not want to be married. My children were in different places…two in separate cities in Texas and a son with me in Ohio. My husband was wealthy, but I took only 20 thousand dollars, my “very messed up son”, and three animals back to my home state.
I had not worked outside the home for 21 years. I had NO job, little money, a damaged son, and no prospects for the future. Then, I found out that I had cancer. Doctors gave me a 40/60 chance of survival.
I had the most amazing journey you can imagine! JESUS CHRIST is EXACTLY WHO HE says HE IS! Christ within me, the hope of glory!
I was raised in a fundamentalist church….but the Lord opened a complete NEW avenue to me! HE IS all we need!
Thank you for “another avenue” to preach His wonderful message! HE does NOT need a formula….HE just needs YOU to OPEN YOUR HEART!
PS….my son continued to have problems…spent 4 years in prison on drug charges, but beginning to accept the Lord’s plan for his life and doing well…accepting God’s plan for his life. My daughters…one doing very well, one with problems…..but beginning to accept the Lord’s plan. My ex-husband, married once again for 5 years, still wealthy…still searching still following the things of the world. I STILL have faith that HE IS IN CONTROL! PRAISE THE LORD!

Cute video, but that\’s about as far as it goes. I don\’t understand why someone like Bob Owens would think that sending it to someone who \"doesn\’t know\" would do anything for that person — but then, I don\’t understand why others are turning this into some sort of \"holier than thou\" thing. I get what the message is, and hey folks, more power to you if that\’s where you find your inspiration. But… I have to disagree that the most humane things come from the Christian faith. There were other faiths before yours, and Christians have borrowed a lot from others and share a lot with others. And a lot of inhumane things are supported by Christians using their faith to lend \"respectability\" to their bigotry.

This is taken from on one of my favorite verses that shares the totality of the gospel of what it means to be a Chrsitan! This is powerful and reminded me that
Christ lives in me always and it is only thru Him if have life - John 14:6 “I am the way, truth and the life.” He is life - it is only in and thru Him I can do anything with His mighty power living in me! This is so humbling - I so wish that everyone alive could know the awesome truth of the Living and Written Word of God - I mean we can know the living God that created us and know how to understand this life we life in it’s fulness! I pray everyone who hears this is brought to a deeper understanding of God’s unfathomable love and amazing grace!

I would not send this to someone who is not open to christianity, because they would react as those that have. Evidently some pastor didn\’t receive it in the spirit in which it was given. Some things are misunderstood even with our best intentions. I personally wanted to put the stethescope to my heart first to make sure my heart was in tune with God. That is the only hope that I have to being on the right track with my Heavenly Father. No other can replace God\’s forgiveness and peace. I loved it!

Although, it really should be considering His in our every thought, and I believe that\’s what most true christians strive for. Most of us know we are imperfect and not any better than anyone else on this earth. Knowing that God is merciful, and that he loves us anyway gives us a wonderful feeling in our hearts that we won\’t to share, because God\’s word tells us that we must love others as we love ourselves. So, in the video, this man’s heart is singing \"Praise Jehovah\" over and over again. Wonderful and very cute, I am not Christian, I am Spiritual, I believe and know that God is in All things, at all places at all times. There is no place that God is not. God, Yarweh, the “I Am”. God (Christ) has many names and is held in the heart of people all over the World, this one and all of the Universe. The holiest of Holy does not need to be in a box, (Church), Temple, Ashram, etc, for God is is our hearts all the time even the ones that don’t believe or know of this presence. God can be summed up in one word, “LOVE” He does not ever judge. He just loves. Go in your heart and you will know.

I read many of the comments on this video–many were positive. Although we don’t sing Hallelujah to the Magnificent God of the Universe all day long, and it would be hypocritical for us to say we did, the amazing thing about God is that He does promise to live inside of us in all of His Glory and Perfection even when we absolutely blow it, feel sorry for ourselves, lack gratitude, and yes, hurt others. To SAM, and to BOB, there is nothing ‘perfect’ about the vessels God chooses to inhabit, and the ultimate ‘humble’ One is Christ himself who humbled himself by throwing off his power and royalty to become a tiny, dependent baby so that He could save mankind. That’s who I look to for humility and perfection…who do you know who has done that Perfectly (divine or otherwise)?

Words can be interpreted in many ways, what may mean something for one person, will mean something different to another. My youngest daughter taught me even the worst Rap lyrics can be turned into something wonderful, so the words to the Stones song (or any other) can mean good or bad, depending on ones interpretation.
As for Our Lords words..sadly they can as well, when not listening with our hearts and souls. I believe, we are \"here\" simply to learn how to give and receive LOVE. Sad to think we need to learn how, but it is very apparent we do. In saying that, I choose to open my heart to our Heavenly Fathers Love. Who, btw, I believe could care less how many four letter words I use, as long as I don\’t take HIS name in vain! Besides, it doesn\’t take any intelligence to use four letter words!
I also choose to take what the person did in making this wonderful video, as a postitive message. God lives in me, and in YOU! Praise Him! He is sooo good to us ALL! God loves us sooo very much. Let us celebrate our saviours birthday, THE ultimate gift given in total true love to us from our Heavenly Father, whose miracles are STILL happening every moment of every day! Praise you Father!

It was wonderful and for those that claim we cannot prove that God exists–can you prove He DOES NOT? I don’t think so! The sadness and misery you see in the world is brought about by those who close their hearts and minds to God and His love, not by His not caring. We were given free will to ruin our lives or accept the sacrifice of Christ and love as He loved. This little video is just a modern way of trying to reach you before the end times befall the world. May you find God’s love before then.

I work as a vet tech at an Animal Hospital and have see Gods miracules many times.I have prayed with clients as there pets were going threw illnesses,and saw deliverance,love and joy.And this tells me that God even takes time for our animals. Not just us.Talk about saving grace. As soon as i got to work i got the stethoscope out and was happy to hear my heart singing “oh happy day”.Went one step further took an x-ray of my heart saw Jesus in my heart. Brothers and sisters keep praying for me. God called and I heard and when i was younger i was very hard of hearing because i thought i was having a good time.Now i am older have christ in my heart and I know i am having a great time.I am enriched by Gods grace every day.

To those dear people who do no have faith in God: One has to know about something to believe in it! The more you know about God’s love and Christ’s sacrifice, the more your faith grows. It takes time and interest in finding truth. God is always near in times of trouble. By the way, man’s heart is evil from his youth, Gen 8:20ff. God will never again destroy all living. The’devil’ is the evil in the hearts of men - it is man who sins in this world, not some evil being to tempt man. God cannot be tempted and He does not tempt man. I agree with the concepts in Pastor S E Ray’s remarks, but not the spirit communicated therein. I’ve never heard of ‘Decisionalism’ and you’ve spurred my interest in learning more, however, communicating fear of damnation to those who are truly seeking leads me to believe your focus isn’t right on. I choose to read the scriptures that say ‘By your fruit you shall know them’ (followers of Christ)and ‘Your Faith has healed you, go and sin no more (Jesus) and also, ‘By beholding we become changed’ and don’t forget, ‘He who began a GOOD work in you will be Faithful to complete in until the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ I agree with Sharon that the book ‘The Shack’ encompasses all of these scriptures, because it is truly God and His power that saves us AND changes us for His glory. God did indeed come to us in the frail package of a tiny newborn infant to live a sinless life to save us from ourselves and buy us back from the Forces of Evil who totally had our heads in the guillotine. We are free now. We do not have to live in fear of some terrible judgement or damnation if we don’t get it just right. It IS about LOVE and connection with our God, just because he is crazy about us, wants to ‘hang out’ with us (like in the book, THe Shack) and he wants to HEAL us. Not too cheat us from some great kind of fun, but to give us such a deeper form of joy and a rich existence of Peace that we wouldn’t want anything else. Why would we want to stray from a bonfire in the middle of a COLD night….we know the night is cold here on Earth. We want to stay by the warmth and the LIGHT. What could be more attractive? I’m not worried about all of those supposedly in ‘deception’. Those who earnestly ’seek Him with all of their hearts’ WILL FIND HIM. Now That is Thanks to GOD.

To Karen and others: I think Pastor Ray was trying to break it down for those who do not have Christ Jesus in their hearts. Those of us who do and are born again (which you must be to gain heaven…Jesus said it… not me) will not pass thru the judgment that others will that are not born again. This is a confusing thing to some non-believers (I know I was one once) but if we ask Jesus into our hearts, repent or ours sins, and do our best to live a life pleasing to him we will make it to heaven.
If you just read John 3:16 “For GOD so loved the World that he gave his only begotten SON, that who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life! Praise God! Did you see any conditions like ”you got to quit smoking” or “you can’t drink” before you get saved I didn’t think so. Imagine how much easier it will be to break bad habits if you have Jesus helping you!
The Holy Bible is God’s way to communicate with us…read it…for it is alive! His word is living and will take you thru the lowest parts of your life by speaking to your heart/soul and comforting you.
To those critical of Christians: God is truth and most of us are seeking that. If you will take the time and read the Bible you will find wonderful comfort, laughter, romance, and sinful things too. All to help you realize all of us (including some famous Bible people) are on a journey and some will go down the path of righteousness (not self-righteousness) and some will go down the path of damnation. The choice is yours.
Imagine where you will spend eternity…… will it be in God’s presence or will he cast you into utter darkness, saying he never knew you? Hey, this isn’t me trying to scare you….its God’s word! You never have to question it if you have Jesus in your heart.

My spirit said a Powerful AMEN to this message, because I discovered that Christ does not just give us Salvation; He gives us HIMSELF! HE is Salvation. He does not give us Love; He gives us Himself, Who IS Love. The same goes for everything that He is - Joy, Peace, Faith, etc., - all of the Fruit of the Spirit.
So, Christ living in us, which is part of His Completed Gift when we receive Him, and is not dependent on our performance, but only on our once-for-all-time acceptance of Him, means that All that HE IS, dwells inside every Christian permanently. He said I will NEVER leave you or forsake you. THAT is the Wonderful Mystery!!!
