Dear Phil, I am deeply grateful for your kind and wonderful words about "Melissa's Prayer Journal." I am Melissa's Mom, who sent this book to you, and I agree with your points. I think the worse tragedy is not dying young, but rather dying without the chance to know the Lord. We have peace about our daughter, despite the pain, because we are certain she is in a better place and we will see her again. Thank you, for letting your readers know about Melissa's powerful witness. Please send them to www.mbmpublishers.com website for discounts and free shipping of the book. God Bless & Deeply Grateful! - Melissa's Mom

I also sponcer a child from Kampala Uganda, from the Children of Promise organization, Cissy. I agree the children need our help, the adults need our help. They are a country hungry for God, and they are such wonderful people. I visited last year, with my church group we built a church. We will be going back again this year. I am appalled the media is not covering more of the troubles in Kenya, these are innocent people being killed. There is also an organiztion called Kiva, you can loan money to small business owners to help them get started. To help them that way is also cool.
Blessings to you

Phil --I always enjoy you on daily heartlight, today's thoughts on Compassion and your future trip have convinced me to keep the additional child I received in the mail. I had requested a different child, and was sent one I didn't pick. How selfish of me, I guess Jesus' choice matters more!
Shalom,
Shannon

I agree with you. I was one who felt that the media 'make too much' and try to 'pull at your heart strings' Even Christian programs and I feel guilty when I cannot respond. When I went to Haiti and saw the conditions and poverty, and the way the people make the best of what they have, was an eye-opener and a life=changing experience for me. I am still working to set up a budget to be able to do a little, while getting myself out of debt. Be blessed. You do a wonderful work.
